Given the choice, I agree with Scoti. There is no reason to run the lower arms when you can do spindles and springs these days. Except of course the disc conversion. That said I put DJM 3" lower arms on my '71 in 1995 and haven't had any problems but the bottom spring pockets are beat. The pros are that you do maintain alignment and you can run 15" rims (with spindles you might have to trim the lower arms, depending on backspacing). The cons are destroying your truck on a pothole, potential ball joint stress / wear, and I personally don't like the look of them hanging down.

A year or two ago I cut one coil off of the springs, the front drop sits at about 5.5" and still aligns. There is alot of play in the camber on these trucks. I would still like to switch to spindles/springs though.
