the best way to time a motor is to get a vacum gauge and and use it to get as much vac as you can. like around 15 to 20 anything less it not time right. it will also so you if you have problem any where else in your, a loss chain, a bad valve or rings. get one and use it. i dont even have a timing tab on my motor.
