A half inch lower doesn't seem that much on paper but does make a difference on how much spring you hafta cut in the end to get as low as you want. The less spring you hafta cut the better the ride. I'm sure there is some type of scientific explanation but the more spring you cut, the more you mess up the stock geometry and you also get more of a bounce. The above people are right. Drop springs tend to be a bit more stiff and bouncy. Also, if you like wheel size options, the 2.5 drop spindles let you still run 15" wheels. 3" drop spindles require some grinding to clear the wheels unless you run a bigger wheel diameter.
