Looking good! I had a broken one of those pins also but I was lazy and just stuck a bolt in there. Does not look nearly as nice as yours! Something that I discovered was that if you cut the U bolts with a hack saw shorter (as my biggest pet peeve of all time is threads sticking out of a nut, weird I know) and then unscrew the nut to just a little below flush you can grind with a flap disc (I use 120 grit) the hack saw marks off and then magically you have a shorter bolt. Then you just unscrew the nut off the rest of the way and I very lightly sand with the disc the radius of the bolt and yuo would never know it from a factory shorter one. Obviously you have to paint it then but I do not trust that gold zinc coating anyways. Just a suggestion, do what you want though! I like how you welded around these stands also. Good idea and I wish I had done that.
