My FRANKENTRUCK is a highly altered 1978 4x4 3/4 ton (nearly 1 ton, due to it's axles and springs), TH400/built 350 with 4.11:1 gears. It works daily, but is not used for commuting due to it's 12.5 mpg. Even that is pretty amazing considering it puts out about 325 to 350 Hp and the TH400 is not an OD tranny.
Sure will get heavy work done pronto, though (and can be locked into front-wheel drive for the snowy conditions, too)!
