Hey burlapen try leaving the stands loose with those ece mounts and slide the motor back see if the truck manifolds will work better. If it works you can always make a bracket to extend off the back of the cross member to bolt to the hole that's not touching the x member if I had to do it all over again with these mounts this is what I was going to try in order to use truck manifolds. Not trying to hack your thread just giving info on my just completed swap.
