Man, a sheetmetal intake with a few big Holley carbs, a reground cam, port and polish all the heads, I've heard there are big-valve heads for the V6 so those probably flow better to begin with, custom pistons for high compression and a set of good rods... 1.25hp per cubic inch should be do-able.
Then drop that heavy sucker in a '53 Studebaker and go set a record at Bonneville.
Yes, I have thought about just exactly this in the past...
Comparatively speaking, it probably wouldn't be a real expensive way to build a 700ci engine... Probably a lot cheaper than building one that big based off a Big Block Chevy or other aftermarket block/head combination.
I wonder what 702ci + .030-over comes out to?
And at Bonneville, weight isn't a bad thing.
