I agree - with 2004R may be a moot point. I wouldn't go with only the gear swap (to a 3.54 for example) because then my lil 350 might be pretty stressed with a camper. But I'm lookin down the road a bit - the 2004R conv will come first and that gets me awful close to ideal. But a 3.73 with the 2004R is just about perfect - roughly similar 1st gear final ration and still big o/d on the top end. 3.54 with 2004R is proabably too high of a gear for the highway - rpms would drop too much (when used in conjunction with a 2004R) - but a 3.73 might be just about right.

I have a feeling it would be cost-prohibitive to add in a 3.73 for the good I'd get out of it (AFTER a 2004R swap), but just exploring the options, if there are any, for now.
