I'm with you on wanting a different sound that the typical hopped up American V8 sound!
I'm shooting for something like this on my '66 C10. The BMW M3 V8 rev to 8400 stock and sounds amazing that high up, and the individual runner intake and separate throttle bodies with velocity stacks adds to the sound as well. The builders say it's their own custom 3" exhaust with two X pipes. It looks like they build their own mufflers/resonators too.
I'll eventually build a destroked LS2 with an IR intake and four two barrel Dellorto carbs and the valve train and bottom end built to handle 8500 rpm to replicate that beautiful music, but until then I've got these vids to hold me over!
