No , i just did this yesterday. You can drill it out, it does enough meat wher you can drill it out; but be careful. Heres the thing though, if you go to the local parts store to find a temp sending unit to screw into it, you are wasting your money because you dont know exactly what type of temp guage it is for. I went to Oreilly, got a tenp sending unit to screw in, after drilling out with no leaks and the guage ran 250 degrees plus. I know the the reading was wrong because I got a custom tune yesterday too and the tuner's laptop read 199 degrees the whole time. Best thing to do is purchase the autometer sending unit from JEG's that will fit that adapter. This is what i was forced to order. Good Luck!!!!!!!!!!
