well, if it is for wheeling only, why donīt you mount the driving lights on the rear quaterpanel? So basically through the last stake pocket ontop of the bedrail. it would look a little silly, bit give you great light output and keep them out of harms way.
A super clean version is the little Rigig Industries LED lights frenched into the rear bumper....
