I've got a line lock on my truck (400SB, 700R4, Auburn LSD, 3.73 gears, 245/55/15 tires), and with manual drum brakes it has no problem at all holding my truck back during a burnout even on dry pavement.

The proportioning valve shouldn't matter. And if there was some problem with your brakes, I think you would notice during normal braking.

I wonder if you have it hooked up wrong or maybe you are using it wrong. Where do you have the solenoid valve in your brake system?
