dtlilly, I hope this link (I couldn't get the pic to post) of right and left hooks from a 72 satisfies your question. It's hard for me to explain why Randy's trucks have the same hook on both sides but it could be that they ran out of one or the other and installed what they had at the time. The part number on both of these hooks is the same and they are not identified as R or L. As you can see there is a definite difference though. I still have 3 or 4 sets lying around here and all of them are paired like this as were all the other sets that I have had in the past. Take a good look at the post "Powder coated tow hooks for sale" posted by drink2mny. There is definitely a R & L. Maybe some of the other senior members that have parted a lot of trucks can offer some insight.
