Re: Rust repair what to do first?

When I started working on mine I was just gonna cut out the rusty parts and weld in new stuff, as I'm cutting and welding I realized if I want to do this and have the truck last more than just a few years I needed to get rid of ALL the rust first. So my recommendation is to take the truck apart and get it media blasted, I did mine and don't regret it a bit, not only am I not dealing with dirty rusty metal I'm able to see ALL the damage done to the steel by the rust. When I'm done replacing panels I will truly have a rust free truck. Living in Maine that's a good feeling, good luck with your truck!
