Re: I've got my 13 year old boy on track to get a 67-72 of his own
Glad to see this stuff still happening, I swear car guys forge some of the best father son relationships.
I will be 27 this week, married and my Father is and always will be my best friend. He was my best man at my wedding, he is down for whatever stupid idea I have. He traded a VERY nice 70 340 Duster for a 90 Mustang 5.0 when I was 13 so we could put together the car I wanted for my first car. Since then it has been drag racing, maintaining his fleet, my fleet and overall just being happy to spend the time with him. I won't go racing without him, he wont go to cruise nights or shows without me.I tried to pay him back last year when he was on the lookout for a little yard truck. I had a very clean 90 Toyota Supra Targa Turbo that I decided to sell and we went and picked up a 69 C/10 short bed step and thats what we are working on now. We both love the truck drove it for a year now its getting bagged, 5 lugged and put on 20's.
I hope some day I am half the man and 1/2 as good of a father to a son or daughter as My Dad is to me. It really is the best to be able to call your Father your best friend, best man. Wedding speech had over 250 people crying including myself balling my eyes out. Kudos to you guys taking the extra step with your kids in this collapsing world we live in.
