you can use either one in your panel, i went with an electric to avoid the fan shroud.
these came stock with short pumps and all the accessory brackets put gen & ps pump above the valve covers or next to the motor
the long pump was made for tight clearance hoods and engine compartments
you can tuck the ac, ps and alt in front of the motor
long pump on sbc, plenty of room for mechanical fan and spacer and still keep the electric
