Look inside the air cleaner. The lower half the snorkel is attached to should be stamped with a notch. The notch would fit the shape of a Q-jet. Small blocks in these trucks used a spacer between the carb and air cleaner. The spacer should have a tab that lines up the notch. With everything lined up the snorkel should point to the left just over the alternator.
