That is true that the '88-'98 LD2500 6 lug rotors use the same A3 and A5 bearings. And while they will actually slide on the '71-'87 spindles, they will not quite line up with the calipers. I have physically done this myself.

If you want to use the '88-'98 LD2500 rotors, you will have to use the '88-'98 1500/LD2500 spindles as well as the other necessary parts outlined in the "Disc Brake Upgrade Reference Thread" that can be found in the '60-'66 FAQ Index.
