As long as your original seal is not cracked or overly stiff, it will work......chances of that are slim, so I would start with a new one.

IIRC the only realy difference in the gaskets themselves is the some of them have a "locking strip" that fits into a groove in the rubber after it is all pulled it. I think that was a later year running change though. If yours doen't have it, don't worry about it. They are harder to deal with anyway.
