well, sort of.... now I could be wrong, but I understand the purpose of this sensor it that if one half of the brake hydraulics (front or rear brake reservoir) fails, it would warn you.
The reason for that is the brakes would still stop the truck yet the driver might not notice only half the brakes are working.
If it were simply "not enough pressure in the lines" you would already know - your screaming passengers and the sound of bending metal
