da-burb is right belives me it's hard to find a good drum after 31 years...here you have to have 1 ton duallies here inspected every year to keep them on the road or there considered not road worthy and they wont give you license plates or insurance ........so your sidelined till you find a good drum if it dosen't measure within tolerances. Its a big fear I have with my tow truck.. what happens when my drums dont pass.......well I have it figured out as we have some aircraft industry here and they as well as some machine shops have a metal spray ( flamespray) process that will layer a little thickness to the drum and then you can cut it to nominal size.
