Most of the B&M cable shifters only require you to put a big enough hole in the floor to pass the cable through, such as yours. With this Unimatic Shifter, you have to cut a hole about 1" x 3" for the base of the shifter mechanism to fit below the floor. According to the instructions, you need about 2.5 inches of clearance below the floor for this to fit.
