Is it a double pumper (rear barrels open after the fronts are half open by a link on the throttle arm). Or a vacumn secondary, there is a round chamber on the opposite side to the throttle arm?
On a v/s the rears are controlled by an internal passage not the hoses. You will not see them open by revving the engine. It has to be under load, say moving at about 50mph.
Hook the vacumn advance to the port over the idle mixture screw. Everything else put where it hooks up best. Don't forget that big one on the rear of the base.
