With some simple common sense you can put the notch exactly where it needs to be. BUT!!! I will warn you, if you do the notch and put those slim pancake style bumpstops in, you WILL come into contact with the wood floor at full drop. An easy remedy to this is just use a slightly taller stop. None of this is "hard" to do.

Another thing is, if you plan on hauling a trailer of ANY size, do NOT use a c-notch. The notch will significantly reduce the strength of the frame
