Re: Best replacement bumper

I bought a repro from one of the normal suppliers, and it was paper thin...
I bought another from Keystone in Brainard, MN... factory gauge steel, and they're a chrome plater for the OE bumpers on pick-up trucks... their chrome has to last, or they won't be the OE source for pick-up trucks anymore!
Price was as good as any of the other places.
It's been on my Suburban for over 5 years now, and looks as good as the day I bolted it on--the Suburban sits outside in all weather, 365 days a year.

They also do concours-quality bumper repair and restoration for vintage vehicles, and they're prices are AWESOME. The rear bumper on my Suburban was bent in on both sides, twisted radially about 15 degrees, had several extra holes from trailer hitches, and a 2-inch hole torched in it.
It is now perfect, there isn't a single wave in it (they use 3-foot belt sanders, not 6-inch hand grinders to smooth the metal prior to plating) and it's lasted 5 years as well.
