Think about all that depreciation you save over and above the 30k car payment. Everything you do to the truck adds value. Drive the Prius off the lot and lose 20% of the value. How much gas can you buy with $6k ? And you still have the $500 mo payment.
I still think total cost of ownership is better with an old truck
