If the rear shaft pushes the carrier bearing that far through the carrier mount you should cut, weld, the rear shaft and reballance. Some yokes are long enough to hit the speedo gear, its best to counterbore the yoke IF the yoke is too long.
Ill assume your shaft was correct before lowering, the rear shaft needs to be shortened.
