I was having similar problems with my Sub. I can tell you it won't be easy finding the culprit.
My suggestion is to get a copy of the emissions manual for your year from GM. It really helped me.
It turned out my cracked exhaust was causing the knock sensor to kick in and retarding my timing. This ran the engine really rough because my base timing was already off by about 15 degrees.
When I get a chance, I can try to help you by looking in my 88 book.
