any year will be good. i would just really search for the cheapest one you can find and have it rebuilt. I paid $50 for one and turned around and put $1000 into a rebuild...thats corvette shift kit, 2500 stall, and installed. But realistic cost could be up to about $1600.
If you dont find one let me know and you could look at possibly getting one shipped to ready to install. My trans guy will do that.
