To add to leddzeps comment, if you change from short to long or long to short, you also have to change alternator brackets, p/s brackets, and all the pullys which gets pricey. I could be wrong but I think the p/s pump may also be different.

If it were me, I would stay away from electric pumps for a daily driver. $100.00 for a new stock replacement is not bad as they are getting $60.00 to $70.00 for a reman. Reman are ok but after they have been remanufactured a few times the cores get a little beat up and fail more often.

Just some thoughts.
