fuel pumps are like $15... might as well change it out takes like 20 minutes.. easy way to solve your question.. its two bolts and then push up the ecentric rod.. some have a threaded cap you can unscrew to shove up... ive had many problems with that too.. but i also second the opinion about the fuel filters and what not... little bit of fuel should be enough to fire it..
