sound like you are looking for a reason not to do it. here is the simple solution. cut it and put it together so that you have every thing aligned. tack it. hire a welder to come in for a hour to finish it off for you. make sure that you have more for him to do so maybe he can get some more time in. won't cost that much. if you use a 67 and up frame you still have to do frame welding
