Here is a good place to start;

Salvage yard database. Use Wikipedia to find out what came in what vehicle and when. You'll have to scroll down to V8 to get to the details;

You can also search on LS if you want to see the car motors. Enter in one of the vehicles listed in Wikipedia. Select engine (some come with trans or you can search separate). Select distance to find the closest. You'll get a list of salvage yards and most put notes about the part. When you put in a vehicle it will use all vehicles that had that VIN code. Try to get the whole thing with wiring and ECU. You can then have the wiring harness and ECU flashed. Your other choice is to just buy a harness as long as the sensors are there.

Same type of thing. They are a truck salvage yard and they created the site to sell the engine and transmission pullouts.
