I could be wrong, but I am almost certain there is a difference between GM Certified and NOS. NOS would have been made using original dies, GM Certified was an aftermarket part that got the "OK" from GM so they put a special GM Certified sticker on it.
I could be all wet behind the ears, just going off of memory.
