The transfer case in a '87 Blazer will not be a 205 unless someone put one in it. I believe the original transfer case should be a 208. The 208 has an aluminum case, whereas the 205 is cast iron.

Anyway, I don't want to spend more money on that transfer case that's so loud. I found an 87 Blazer with a granny 4-speed and married np205, so I'm thinking of going with that.
