Just found this board Thanks Guys (an Intro)

Well i finally decided its past the time to get the old 1982 K10 Scottsdale Long bed back into nice condition.

I'm starting the daunting list Brownie as we call her (metallic mahogony color) but not sure where to start

She arrived in September of 1982 to our front door, my Dad ordered her from the local chevy dealer sight unseen. She has been a loyal part of the family all through the time i grew up and was my first truck. In these 31 years she has 130K miles on her 305, her auto locking hubs have never had a problem, and she still purrs like a kitten, if she's been driven a lot i can reach in and fire her up with a turn of the key through the window. However, the old girl is showing signs of setting for long periods of time.

her interior the dash is cracked out bad, the seats need recovered like a madman. the doors have some oxidation. and i noticed a couple holes in her floor pan.

the outside the girl looks good, the paint has some oxidation a couple dings from years of country life. a few small spots of "chevy gut rot" but nothing major.

and in these years we've had her stuck a grand total of 3 times, and she's pulled a lot of big items from sticky spots. (pulled out a semi once, and on another occasion we tied on to a 1 ton dodge diesel attached to a small mobile home and pulled it to traction)

When i'm done i want her to keep that Rootbeer Brown look with the original tan interior.
