The locker in the rear is fine, but I wouldn't run one in the front. It could be rather jerky as it locks/unlocks....unpredictable.
In my own stuff, I have run a Truetrac and a clutch-type posi unit, at different times and trucks. Both with Detroit locker rears. I would say the the locker itself is more noticeable than either of the fronts, especially on the street, where you couldn't run the front anyway(unless it was really snowy)
The locker will be more clunky with a Manual transmission too.
I abused that Truetrac with much bigger tire than they recommend too, and all I ever broke was a passenger side axle. Shredded it right at the joint, killed both halves too.
I wouldn't even consider a spool up front. You really need the differential action to steer at all. If you watch the guys at a truck pull, they jump out and unlock one hub to drive around the pit area
