Well I personally would switch over to a electric fan with shroud attached. If you go to a salvage yard and get a 1998 Lincoln Mark 8 Electric fan and wiring as far as you can cut, you will pull 3300CFM of air. We use them on all of our hotrods. Plus the old fan clutch could be more of your problem on that fan than the shroud. I like the option to remove the mechanical fan, easy the drag off your motor, and never have to worry about a faulty fan clutch again. Wiring electric is easy.
You will expect to pay at most $40 for the Lincoln electric fan and another $30-$50 for a Adjustable Temp Relay Switch.
