Hey Dubie, your really going to love the wifey for putting that sound deadner in. I have also noticed that I get quite alot of heat radiating through the floor boards. That material should help isolate that heat.
Whats the diameter of your fan blades? How close does it come to the contacting the front crossmember? I have a feeling I will need to switch to a mechanical fan once I install the AC condenser......
