Re: Factory 2 tone stepside?
I like solid paint trucks better,no matter what they are. It's cool to have a two-tone as part of an all the bells & whistles truck, but even then,I dig a solid paint Cheyenne Super because (1) they are the exception and (2) the side trim stands out more, rather than just the border between two colors. Stepsides don't need the trim for accent because the bed itself had mucho body line and dimension. Just look at that sweet Cheyenne. It's cool and rare to have a Cheyenne that never had trim. It's a deluxe truck toned down. To me a Stepside is about carrying on the pickup tradition once Fleetsides came about. Before Fleetsides they were just a pickup. They never had trim. Side trim and two-tone came about to break up the slab-side look of the Fleetside. Your truck is rare and unique. I'm not stuck on 100% original, either, but if that was mine I'd keep it original body-wise. In the end, trucks done that way stand the test of time, always look good, and you'll never look at it later and say,"I wish I hadn't done that". That's what I've learned, but this is your truck to do what you want with. I'm sure you've stared at it and given a lot of thought. Just adding two more cents here.
