I hear you Ron. I worked as an automotive Machinist for 20 + years as a Crankshaft grinder. We used caustics to remove grease and paint from engines. Couple times I got that stuff on my hands and it would burn like crazy. Now I use “easy off” if I want to detail an engine compartment, removes most the paint and all the grease, just let it sit a few days. Just don't get it on aluminum or anodized finishes.

We are getting off on a tangent here, but what kinds of paint is it safe for? I have used it as well for stripping various paints including lacquer (takes longer) but I guess I've never tried it on catalyzed enamel, urethane, or powdercoat. I'm pretty sure the stuff would eat up any Chevrolet factory paint in about two seconds. Agree?
