Red face $145 New Paint on the 82'

Lots of threads out there on budget paint jobs.. I went through a pile of them and decided to go the route below (very cheap)

Note: This truck is a firewood/bush queen.. nothing show/special about it. I would not suggest this method for something you've invested a pile of time into bodywork.

Truck Details:

Original purchase price $450
Cash into it (new metal etc) $500

1982 K10, 14bff/d44 4.10s, 350/400/sm465

Supplies List (and $)
One Gallon Glass White Tremclad/RustOleum (oil based): $32
Two Quarts Primer (oil based): $19
One Quart Universal Activator: $22
One Gallon (i think) Reducer/Hardener: $44
4 Cans White Rock Guard: $28

Not Included In Total
Misc Crap (tape/paper etc): $33

I am no painter by any means so do not take my numbers for granted!... I mixed the paint/primer with the activator/hardener (8:2:1) I am sure these ratios will change due to circumstance.

I was lucky enough to have access to a small booth, so spraying on the tremclad vs all the roller jobs out there was a better option for me.

4 coats primer, rock guarded, 4 coats paint... and she didn't turn out too bad.
