Header fitment problem BBC
So I went to go put my headers on my BB, and the passenger side went on no problem. I went to put the drivers side in, and the collector hits the frame so badly that I would need to cut at LEAST an inch out of it to make it work. I am using the Hooker 2455's with 2" primary and 3 1/2" collector. On the passenger side, I have about 1 1/2" clearance from the frame. I can't figure it out how it could be so off? I have my transmission mounted to an aftermarket (POL) crossmember. I say that as I wonder if maybe the engine isn't straight??? I had to pull the tailshaft towards the passenger side to mount the transmission to the x-member... Anybody else ever have this problem? Should I unbolt the crossmember and pull the tailshaft over to get the header on, and then go from there? I'd hate to take much out of the frame.... It is right behind the cab mount, and I did have to cut the emergency brake cable bracket off already to try to get them to fit. Please advise!!!
