Although the spring behind the driver's seat seems to make sense, my jack has 1 hole in the base plate where a guy could bolt it to the floor (wingnut?). or maybe it mounted on the carriage bolt that holds the spare to the bracket.
Just thinking of other ways to solve the mystery.
