You could use 2" line (for example) and it wouldn't be any faster because you still have a 3/8" valve. Are the bags 1/2" port or 3/8" port? Actually it will because the I.D. of the 1/2" line is 3/8" and that would be a truly 3/8" system unless you're talking I.D. then you're correct.
