Good point but just because it's DOT doesn't ensure safety (search on firestone/explorer). A SCUBA tank, in my opinion, handle any pressure you throw at a suspension bag. However, DOT approval does allow for insurance companies to pay out. No DOT, No Payment. So, if your going to go cheap, but safe, you risk losing your investment.
Worst case scenario (that I can think of):
You get in an accident, it's your fault, someone in the other car is injured or worse. The investigation finds that your truck was equipped with non-DOT approved parts. Your insurance probably won't cover it and you could get fined or worse.
Remember I said "Worst case" so don't talk about odds, etc. I've played the lottery, I know about odds.
BTW, I've seen PrimeredThunders ride and it is FINE! It's all class A work so he hasn't taken any short cuts.
