Now you could polish and then clear anodize. it dulls the polish a bit but then you never have to polish again.
I did not do that to my grill because I did not have the money at the time. It really does not take long to re polish after it is polished the first time. But like I said if it is stored outside then it is not going to take long for it to oxidize.
