get a pvc adapter to 1/4in pipe thres and put a air fitting in it, put a cap on the water pump inlet and the air fitting on your thermistat housing. pull the spark plugs and valve covers and put 15psi to the system rotate the engine by hand and listen for the hiss
most likly its the intake manifold gasket but it could be a cracked cylender wall or head but its a cheap way to know for shure
