casey is right. You will have no problems switching the two as there is not enough difference in length and the splines are the same. You will have to move the crossmember to the rear a bit but the bolt hole are there in the frame already. You also have to hook it up to manifold vacuum as jonboy said.

You will have to move it forward like jonboy said. The 700 and 350 trans does not have the bolt in yoke like the 400 you just drop the driveshaft and slide the shaft off the trans. If you have it up on ramps make sure you have a drain pan behind the tailshaft when you do this, make sure you are not laying directly underneath it either.

I will never forget the first time my less than mechanically inclined buddy tried to change his oil. I actually convinced him to do it and told him how but I forgot to tell him not to lay directly under it. I just heard him yell loud enough to wake the dead and he came rolling out of there with his face covered in oil he even got it in his mouth, down his shirt, everywhere, luckily it was not too hot. I had to try so hard to keep from laughing but he probably would have killed me if I had.
