I would check the Crutchfield website for some instructions on how to install this. You do have to cut out some metal, which is a non-reversible act, and purists don't like this. I have an Alpine in my 83 C20 and you need to get a cover plate designed to cover the rough cut opening when you install the head unit. Crutchfield and others sell the whole kit, along with a special adapter that allows you to just plug one end into the existing radio harness and the other end into the head unit. My Alpine has one sticky station selector push button, so I don't like it for that reason. I had a different Alpine during the 90s which was much better quality. I like a unit with large buttons.
